A male rider died in Seaford about 9.30 am after being hit by a car near the Frankston Freeway on-ramp.

Another male motorcyclist died about 4pm after colliding with the rear of a utility vehicle then hitting the sidewall on Citylink’s Dynon Road on-ramp.

The deaths bring the number of motorcyclist fatalities this year to 16, compared to just six at this time last year.

TAC statistics show riders represent less than 4 per cent of vehicles on Victorian roads but their vulnerability means they account for 16 per cent of road deaths. 30 motorcyclists died in 2015 while 1093 were injured.
